Despite presidential repeat elections being around the corner, ODM leader Raila Odinga will be flying out of the country within this week for official academic trip.

IEBC has set October 26th as the date for repeat poll with Odinga vowing to boycott should the commission fail to execute radical surgery in its setup.

And spokesperson Dennis Onyango has confirmed the academic trip to UK that comes amid pressure from international envoys on Odinga to drop his hard stand.

“He is travelling to united Kingdom this coming week,” he told Sunday Nation, but refusing to give further details.

“He is supposed to deliver a lecture at Chatham House, the Royal Institute of International Affairs in the UK,” he added.

The latest development will further cast doubt on the October polls given that Odinga is also a key player in the elections.

Among the issues the opposition chief wants addressed are removal of electoral body CEO Ezra Chiloba and revoking of printing contract awarded to Al Ghurair.
