Kisii Women Representative Mary Otara reportedly gave in pressure from Jubilee to ditch ODM over the interdiction of his husband, Andrew Otara, who had been demoted to a classroom teacher.

Mr. Otara, a former Itierio boy’s principal has since been reinstated and promoted as a tutor in Asumbi Teachers College, after being interdicted for some time over allegations that he was behind a fire inferno that had wretched the institution.

And an MP who sorts anonymity says Education Cabinet Secretary Fred Matiangi brokered the deal between the two parties.

“The MP was forced to move from ODM just to save her husband from cold. He had been demoted to classroom teachers over the fire incident. Matiangi was behind all this,” said the MP.

“Mr. Otara was quickly promoted without being cleared just to have his wife joining Jubilee,” added the MP who spoke on anonymity due to sensitivity of the matter.

Even though the writer could not independently verify the claims, Otara had indicated that her intention to move from ODM was guided by frustrations from the party’s top leadership.

“I have been sidelined in all activities and I am forced to depend on party supporters for crucial information,” she said upon her sensation move.

She will be facing ODM’s Janet Ong’era, whom she has repeatedly accused of frustrating her while in ODM.
