Baringo County Senator Gideon Moi has said that Deputy President William Ruto wants to end his political career to succeed President Uhuru Kenyatta ahead of the forthcoming general elections.
The senator claimed that the Deputy President has hatched a plot to ensure that he does not retain his seat after the August 8 election as Jubilee leaders campaign for President Uhuru Kenyatta’s re-election.
"The DP simply wants me to vanish in politics so that he succeeds President Uhuru Kenyatta in 2022," he said.
Moi, who snubbed NASA, said that Ruto will not sleep until he is out of the seat, also said that Ruto has been using his position for selfish gains as we head to the next general.
He also took a swipe at the DP claiming that he keep mentioning his name whenever he meets his wife. "I guess every time Ruto is free with his wife he is ever singing my name Gideon, Gideon, Gideon..."
The lawmaker further said that Ruto will not bother visiting the region once he ensures that he (Moi) is no longer the senator.
"Mark it right from me that once you vote me out and replace me with another Senator in August, you will never ever see Ruto stepping his foot here," he added.
