NASA co-principals Isaac Rutto and Moses Wetangula may have disagreed with Raila Odinga’s ‘major’ announcement on Wednesday and decided to give it a wide berth.
Despite the two being part to the executive team that deliberated on the possible moves after a defeat to Jubilee, they were however conspicuously absent.
But a source privy to NASA’s operations claims that the two wanted a more radical approach than what Odinga had settled on hence disagreeing with the rest of the team.
“They were part of discussions and wanted a more radical approach to the alleged rigging. They wanted Odinga to declare Uhuru Kenyatta an illegitimate president,” the source spoke in confidence.
“They believe that elections were bungled and that Rutto was also a victim of the fraud and never wanted the Supreme Court approach.”
During the press conference, Odinga said he would give Supreme Court another change to build its reputation and urged his supporters to peacefully picket.
The approach was a surprise to millions of his supporters and those who support government given that he had dismissed the idea of going to court.
