Telecommunication firm Safaricom Limited has changed its name and rebranded to Safaricom PLC.
"This is to inform the public that in compliance with Section 53 of the Companies Act, 2015 and inline with the approval granted by the company's shareholders during the Annual General Meeting held on 15th September, 2017 and the certificate of the Change of Name issued by the Registrar of Companies, Safaricom Limited has changed its name to Safaricom PLC with effect from 31st January 2018," read a public notice obtained by Hivisasa on Wednesday evening.
The company Secretary Kathryne Maundu, on behalf of the board, said the change of the name would however not affect all the partnerships the giant telecommunication firm has with its clients.
"All contractual relationships and obligations that the company has with its customers, partners and other stakeholders are not affected by this change of name," she said.
