Raila Odinga's decision to reward party officials with parliamentary positions could yet again split the Orange Democratic Movement further.
At Nairobi on Sunday, Dagoretti North MP Simba Arati yet again took a swipe at the Orange party leadership just hours to NEC meeting scheduled on Tuesday.
The second term ODM MP argues that the party will not make any significant progress with chairman John Mbadi and Director of Elections Junet Mohammed in power.
"It beats logic that someone can work at the party level and expect the same person to deliver in parliamentary leadership.
"Raila needs to ask them to relinquish some of those seats. That is the only way we can progress as a party," he said.
Besides being chairman, Mbadi also doubles as Leader of Minority in the National Assembly while Mohammed doubles as Minority Whip and Director of Elections in ODM.
For years now, Arati has been a key mobiliser for the ODM party within Nairobi and its environs.
