Details surrounding the inclusion of Kenya National Union of Teachers Secretary General Wilson Sossion to parliamentary nomination list can now be revealed.
Although he will still hold his powerful position in KNUT, Sossion will be serving as an ODM nominated MP to represent interests of teachers in 12th parliament.
A source who spoke in confidence to the reporter says Sossion will be key to mobilizing teachers and other workers to vote for NASA a part from consolidating South Rift votes.
“He serves thousands of teachers and the party dimmed it necessary to include him to help in legislations to avoid future industrial strikes by making proposals to the house,” said the source.
The source further said: “He is also vital in helping us to garner more votes in Bomet and South Rift regions due to his influence.”
The fiery teachers’ defender was on Tuesday present during the launching of opposition’s manifesto and was recognized by opposition leader Raila Odinga.
Before being elected by the teachers to the powerful post, he served as Bomet branch KNUT chairman and national chairman of teachers respectively.
