Fresh details have emerged on how President Uhuru Kenyatta handlers relied on NIS briefs and subsequently skipped Kisii town CBD during his two days tour to Gusii region.

During his tour in Kisii and Nyamira Counties which have been earmarked as tossups, Uhuru issued a Sh828 million cheque in compensation of over 15, 000 IDPs.

Initially, Kenyatta was scheduled to address rallies at Masimba, Keroka with a mega one schedule din Kisii town only for handlers to relocate it to Jogoo suburb.

“It is true that he was to make a few oscillations across Kisii town but they had to move it to Jogoo estate,” said a Jubilee official who is privy to all intrigues surrounding Kenyatta’s tour.

“We had intelligence that a few rowdy youths had planned to heckle him and that is why they changed the venue in last minute,” added the source who spoke in confidence.

A night to Uhuru’s tour, a group of rowdy youths engaged police in running battles before burning Jubilee campaign posters within the CBD.

After his address at Jogoo, Uhuru and his crew took a rough road in the outskirts of the town and proceeded to Nyatieko where he held another rally on Tuesday.
