Two weeks after his nomination to the State Law Office, the experienced judge is yet to quit office, a move that insiders say targets to influence his replacement and Appeals Court nominee to JSC.

"You will be surprised that Kihara Kariuki is yet to be vetted. So he continues to serve in his capacity despite being AG nominee. There is something to it," a source said.

While condemning Supreme Court's annulment of his victory, Uhuru vowed to 'fix' the judiciary once reelected and the unique events taking place could be part of the wider plot.

According to an insider, Jubilee is closely working with Kihara to influence his replacement besides working hard to topple Justice Mohammed Warsane as representative to JSC.

"They (Jubilee0 want both positions and the competition is stiff," another insider told the Sunday Nation.

While Jubilee is said to be pushing for Justice Martha Koome's election as Appeals Court president over William Ouko, they also want Warsane replaced by Justice Wanjiru Karanja.

If the two succeeds, Uhuru will have a Jubilee leaning JSC with at least 6 commissioners out of 11 since Kihara will also sit in the team once vetted along with 3 people nominated to represent Public Service Commission.

Already, a petition for removal of CJ David Maraga has been submitted and a Jubilee leaning JSC could 'fix' him in the long run.
