The decision by Raila Odinga to invite Embakasi East MP Paul Ongili alias Babu Owino to speak ahead of his seniors in Mombasa was informed by NASA’s agenda on the youth, says Timothy Bosire.
Moments after he finished delivering speech, Odinga called Owino to address the crowd despite Mombasa Governor Hassan Joho being on the stand by to take over.
“NASA’s top agenda is empowering of youths and most of them attend our rallies. We have to appreciate them and that informed his decision to breach the so called protocol,” he said.
Traditionally, NASA has been giving established politicians first priority in public rallies with youths only recognized either through mentioning or slightly few minutes airtime.
And Bosire, who is also the national treasurer of the Orange party, said the coalition will be devolving most events you youths.
“It wasn’t just by accident and we shall encourage more of that. That is the way to go because youths play an important role in our politics.”
A fortnight ago, the MP hit headlines when he was arrested for allegedly insulting President Uhuru Kenyatta at a public rally.
