According to the Kisumu County Executive for Trade, Tourism and Heritage Dr Rose Kisia licensing bills is going to improve revenue collection as opposed to situation of daily receipting.

Speaking to journalists at Museum Hall during the public participation forum, Dr Kisia said that daily receipting is proned to loopholes and pilferage and it ends up in peoples pockets.

"When we license from the hawker to the biggest trader and done from a centralised system that is a guaranteed," she said," she added.

Dr Kisia said, "The traders themselves are in support of the centralised system rather than the daily receipt to seal the revenue loopholes. With registration and licensing that money is guaranteed that through an IT system."

She also asked private markets such supermarkets to allocate space for county commodities saying the idea of the bill is to create a conducive environment for better businesses and returns.

"With private market at least they give us space within the market for county goods.Small jobs especially non skilled labour should just go to the Kisumu county residents," said Dr Kisia.
