According to the local community, the project was initiated by former MP John Opore who ignored the project 15 years later.

“Oyioka should not ignore the Polytechnic in his tenure. We hope he is going to allocate funds to complete the construction of the institution for students who don’t qualify to higher learning institutions to join and learn skills,” said Andrew Riang’a.

Robert Nyangaresi who served as the secretary of a committee that was formed by the former MP said Sh800,000 that was allocated in Opore’s tenure to start the project was diverted to Entanke Polytechnic.

“Opore failed to allocate good money to complete the construction of the project. Sh800,000 that was allocated was diverted to complete the construction of Entanke Youth Polytechnic. Oyioka should consider Miranga Polytechnic and allocate funds to revive the project which has stalled for years now,” said Nyangaresi.

Area assistant Chief Benjamin Ayuma said they will push the MP to finish the construction of the Polytechnic before he initiates the new project in Bomariba.

"As local leaders, we have agreed to meet Oyioka so that we can discuss how the project can be completed before new projects are initiated in Bomariba,” said Ayuma.
