Medical workers in Kisii county have asked governor James Ongwae to revoke the appointment of chief officers of medical services and public health on grounds that they are non-performers.
KNUN Kisii county deputy Secretary Eric Rioba said the county assembly and public service board should not to approve the re-appointments of Peter Mochama for public health and Alice Manyange for public services.
Rioba said the two are total failures who didn't perform in the past 5 years.
"They failed to upgrade health facilities, equip local health centers, emergency and ambulance services in the county and their appointment will abuse the people of Kisii county", said Rioba.
He added that during the time they were in office, promotion of health workers was stalled.
"We will down tools if the two are approved to serve in the next five years", he threatened.
Rioba said if the governor plans well for the county's health sector, the two officers should be dropped.
