A section of Wiper MPs are requesting the party to revoke the National Assembly’s Minority Whip Francis Nyenze’s nomination for Kitui West MP.
The leaders accused Nyenze receiving millions of shillings from the Jubilee government so as to destabilise Wiper.
Nyenze has been vocal in the Wiper rebellion politics, credited for the No Kalonzo No NASA slogan after the coalition settled on Raila Odinga instead of Kalonzo Musyoka as flagbearer.
Last week, the Kitui West MP raised more dust when he publicly endorsed President Uhuru Kenyatta's reelection and urged the Kamba community to reelect him.
“Let us not be swayed by politics of empty rhetoric by those alleging President Uhuru has not worked well. The truth is Uhuru Kenyatta has done a lot and we will elect those whose work can be seen,” Nyenze said.
On Monday, Senator Mutula Kilonzo accused Nyenze of receiving a bribe from Jubilee to have Kalonzo exit the NASA coalition and that since he has failed, he is set to paint Kalonzo as a failed leader in the Ukambani turf.
“We are all aware that was his [Nyenze] brief, since he was unable to deliver,” Mutula said.
The Wiper party also threatened to make Nyenze’s allegiance a key item of discussion in their next National Executive Committee meeting slated for later this week.
Executive director Jared Siso moved in to rubbish Nyenze’s claims of Uhuru’s performance and said Jubilee's regime has been a massive failure.
“Nyenze is quite aware of the consequences of campaigning for a rival party. Wiper will no doubt be seeking a clarification from Nyenze as to whether he has shifted his allegiance from our party to Jubilee candidate, after which we will chart the way forward,” said Siso in a statement to newsrooms.
