Richard Omwela has retained the Kenya Rugby Union (KRU) chairman's seat after garnering 25 votes.

Omwela warded off competition from his closest rival Sasha Mutai who garnered 23 votes.

Ranjider Pape Sembi came in a distant third position with nine votes.

Strathmore Leos front guard Sylvia Kamau was elected board director, garnering 46 votes in the Annual General Meeting that was held Wednesday at RFUEA Grounds.

Others elected on the board are Raymond Olendo, Ian Mugambi and Ezekiel Owuor.
