Hip Hop sensation and self-declared boss Rick Ross arrived in the country in style with his crew amid huge public fanfare.
The household act touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the afternoon ahead of his concert at the iconic Carnivore Grounds with Kenyans sharing pictures of his new look and his former look, a meme that continues to roil social media hours after landing.
Speaking Friday night to NRG radio and Pulse Live Kenya, Rick Ross waxed lyrical about the power of hard work and determination in all that one does.
He encouraged the Kenyan youth to be patient, and not to underestimate the significance of small steps, saying that small steps always culminate in something bigger as long as one does not stop.
''Everytime you make some big moves, it takes time. That also applies to life. All you got to do is work harder than yesterday. When everybody else is asleep, you keep working. Everything good comes with hard work. Don't go backwards, keep going forward. When you wake up every day, just go hard than the day before and you will see the results. When you start something small, don't stop. We just need to be progressive and we shall see the results. Just do the right thing, just do the positive things,'' the cool Big Boss said, sporting his trademark shades and beard.
He urged those with a platform not just to empower themselves but to also empower others.
Asked about what he reads, Rick Ross said that he had bought James Comey's ''A Higher Loyalty'' and was in the process of reading it.
'' I haven't finished reading it yet coz I just bought it. James Comey's book. Yeah! That's what I am reading,'' he said.
He asked his Kenyan fans to come out in their numbers as he is going to give them a barn-burning show tomorrow.
The build-up to his arrival has been marked by tremendous hype and heightened expectations from his fans.
