Bodaboda riders operating in Kitutu Masaba constituency Bonga point stage have called on police officers to stop harassing them at night.
According to the riders, administration police officers in the region have been harassing them when they refuse to carry them on their motorbikes.
“We can’t afford to carry the officers but later they end up not paying us. We fuel the motorbikes and we also need to be paid so that we can buy food for our families,” said Dominic Babu.
Babu accused three officers who attacked a rider who refused to carry them to District commissioner’s office on Saturday night.
“We want Nyamira County commissioner Isaiah Nakoru to take a legal action against three police officers who attacked our colleague on Saturday night.
"We will be forced to defy orders by police officers especially those working at road blocks because once we fail to give them bribes they attack us or forge charges against us,” he noted.
Dancun Nyakawa who was attacked said the three officers forced them on the motorbike but unfortunately the motorbike slide, they fell down and the officers descended on him with kicks and blows leaving him with serious head injuries.
