Over 150 motor cyclists from Ahero yesterday made a dramatic raid in Rakwaro within Rachuonyo constituency and recovered a stolen motor cycle.
During the raid, the riders also recovered an assortment of police regalia and managed to arrest two suspects.
John Otieno, who led the raid, said they have been alarmed by attacks on their riders within Ahero trading centre citing a recent case where two people shot dead a cyclist and stole his cycle.
Otieno said they got wind of the hideout of the suspects and stormed the village where the main suspect who also took part in the attack of Ahero MCA Maurice Aloo managed to escape.
He said inside his house, they found police uniforms, boots, 12 rounds of ammunition and cash totalling over Sh 100, 000.
The arrested suspects are being held at a police station in Rachuonyo pending further investigations and subsequent arraignment in court.
Ahero Ward representative Maurice Aloo lauded the riders for their bold step in arresting the suspects.
Aloo said he has fallen a victim of crime and would want all criminals in Ahero to be arrested and charged.
The riders later returned to Ahero and engaged police in running battles accusing them of failing to provide adequate security.
Police lobbied tear gas and fired in the air to disperse the riders who had barricaded the Kisumu Nairobi highway at Ahero Bridge.
