Boda boda riders in Bomariba Ward, Kisii South Sub County have threatened to set Igonga Adminstrative police post on fire for alleged harrassment.
They claimed that police officers were fond of harrassing them.
On Sunday, police officers from the Station allegedly harrassed a bodaboda rider who they accused of violatimg the law.
"Police officers have been demanding bribes from riders who violate the law. Failure to which they arrest the riders," said Stephen Mwangi their leader.
He asked police officers to follow the law and seize from intimidating riders.
He further said that riders will from today henceforth work in unity and against the bribe taking officers.
"No amount of intimidation will see thebpolice succeed. We demand that all the rogue officers are taken out of the station immediately," he said.
Reached for a comment area police boss Nicholas Omondi denied the claims saying police officers from the station are not harassing the riders.
"Police are committed to protect lives and property. The harassment claims are misleading ," said the police boss.
