A Jubilee Member of Parliament now wants President Uhuru Kenyatta to embrace dialogue over the ongoing debate on radical surgery within electoral body IEBC.
While Uhuru wants the commission to be allowed to work independently without interference from political quarters, ODM leader Raila Odinga wants a section of officials to be suspended before October.
And in a press conference, Cherengany MP Joshua Kuttuny on Thursday said both Jubilee and NAS A should sit down and discuss the way forward.
“I do not see the reason why we are squabbling over non issues. We all want IEBC to be neutral and as politicians, let us allow dialogue.
“The country is important than our individual interests and I am worried that we are not being sober in such critical debates. Let us sit down and agree how we want these people conduct elections,” he added.
NASA is keen to have commission’s CEO Ezra Chiloba sacked while Jubilee team is after Chairman Wafula Chebukati whom they accuse of siding with opposition.
On Wednesday, an explosive memo allegedly from Chebukati showed a widening rift within the commission with just a month to elections.
