The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has been in the spotlight for the squabbles currently being witnessed from the party officials.
Two top party officials, Budalang’i MP Ababu Namwamba and his Funyula counterpart Dr Paul Otuoma have resigned from ODM's leadership. The two have cited lack of respect from other party members as their main cause of decamping from the party leadership.
Namwamba was the Secretary General while Dr Otuoma was the party Vice Chairman. The rift in ODM is not a good show for the party with the next general elections around the corner. It only shows that come 2017, Jubilee Party will have a smooth time in winning the elections.
The club patron who is also the flagbearer in the next general election, Raila Odinga, has failed to keep his house in order. He has helped in exposing their problems in the public and if the situation is not salvaged in time, then he might as well forget about the next general elections.
Their main opposition for the next general election, Jubilee Party, has on the other hand been busy aligning their party for the next general election. They have been able to woe other people from the disgruntled ODM party and have also set camp in ODM's strongholds.
This is a clear indicator that Jubilee party may win the next general elections come 2017. Raila Odinga and his fellow party officials need to iron out their issues quickly to get ample time of laying out their strategy for 2017 general elections. Lest they do that then they should forget about winning against Jubilee party.
