Elgeyo Marakwet Senator Kipchumba Murkomen has said that Rift valley region registered 70 percent turnout in the repeat poll.
In a press briefing at Serena hotel on Thursday, October 26, Murkomen, who was speaking on behalf of Jubilee thanked Kenyans for turning up in big numbers to vote for Jubilee which dates coincides with president Kenyatta's birthday.
"We are proud of patriotic Kenyans who came out to exercise their democratic right. In fact, I am just from Elgoye Marakwet where I witnessed a 70 percent turn out," Murkomen said.
The Rift Valley is one of the Jubilee strongholds and people turned out in large numbers to cast their votes.Deputy president was among the people who cast their votes in the region.
The Nasa strongholds had very little activity taking place compared to the Jubilee.Nasa leader Raila Odinga urged his supporters to boycott the repeat poll after withdrawing his candidature.
