Rift valley council of elders on Tuesday joined other leaders across the nation in calling for peaceful coexistence.

Led by their patron Gilbert Kabage in a media briefing on Tuesday in Nakuru, the elders said after elections there is need for leaders to work closely and unite Kenyans.

The elders also called on the newly elected leaders to ensure servant leadership.

“Kenyans want peace and to the newly elected leaders let them show leadership as Kenyans will be watching. To those who did not make it in the elections, let them seek redress in our institutions," said Kabage.

His sentiments were echoed by Gabriel Ndung’u, the caucus chairman, who thanked God for prevailing peace and commended Kenyans for holding peaceful elections.

“After elections, the choice of words from the elected leaders should be to promote peace and reconciliation,” said Ndung’u.
