Speaking to journalists, the elders called on Governor Joho to respect the DP, further challenging him to publicly apologise to Ruto.

They threatened to curse the governor if he fails to issue the apology.

“We do not want premature campaigns in the country since the next general election is still far away. Governor Joho must accept that he is a junior and stop undermining the Presidency,” said Kabage.

“We have given Governor Joho an ultimatum to apologize for disrespecting the deputy President. If he doesn’t do so we will curse him,” said Mr Kahatu John, an elder.

Joho and Ruto have in the recent weeks engaged in a war of words, a situation analysts say is likely to be witnessed often as the two prepare for a bruising political battle in the 2022 presidential elections.
