National Assembly Deputy Speaker Joyce Laboso has downplayed reports that Deputy President William Ruto is losing his political popularity in the vote-rich Rift Valley.

The Sotik MP said Tuesday that despite former allies to the Deputy President bolting out of his camp, Ruto still enjoys substantial support in Rift Valley and the region is firmly behind him and the Jubilee government.

“If it is true the community is no longer in Jubilee, then you should have seen all leaders from this region in that meeting (Bomet governor Isaack Ruto's homecoming rally). Only the usual figures who have all been opposing the DP attended. That is a show people are in Jubilee,” She argued.

Baringo Senator Gideon Moi and Bomet governor Isaack Ruto are some of the notable political leaders from the Rift Valley region who have since withrawn their support for Deputy President William Ruto
