Over 70 Rift Valley Technical Training Institute (RVTTI) Medical Laboratory students blocked Eldoret-Kaptagat road protesting against Kenya against the Medical Laboratory Technicians and Technologists Board (KMLTTB's) move, of not approving their course. Led by Moffat Masibo, they claimed the board was yet to approve their course, depite completing it.

They said they were not provided with relevant certificates to enable them proceed to industrial attachment."It's sad that despite someone not meeting the requirements for the Laboratory course, they are enticed to pursue it. Now the Board has refused to license us. What should we do yet we have wasted our time and money," he said, Friday.''We blame the administration for failing to address the issue that we raised over two years ago and now it has come to haunt us,'' added Masibo. The students further called on the Education Cabinet Secretary Dr Fred Matiang'i to come to their rescue. However, the Institution's Principal Edwin Tarno said the issue was being addressed, since some Technical Training institutions were also facing same challenge.
