Defense Cabinet Secretary Raychelle Omamo and her Acting Interior and Coordination counterpart have dismissed claims by the National Super Alliance (Nasa).

On Friday, July 28, Nasa led by presidential candidate Raila Odinga and his deputy Kalonzo Musyoka provided evidence that the military was being used to rig elections in favour of President Uhuru Kenyatta.

While addressing the press in Kisumu, Saturday, Omamo defended her Ministry and the military, saying they are disciplined forces and should not be dragged into politics.

She termed Nasa accusations as unfounded, and were ''intended to create fear and despondency'' and further asked Kenyans and those living in slum areas and Nasa perceived strongholds, not to buy what Nasa leaders said.

According to Omamo, the military remains law abiding, and can never engage in matters that may affect the country's peace.

On his part, Matiang'i said the military and the national police remain trustworthy to their leaders, and can not take orders from anybody, more so, orders that can affect the country's unity.

He affirmed Kenyans across the country of security on and after elections day, saying everything is in place to curb any suspicious cases of unrest or clashes.
