Coast based rights group Haki Africa on Thursday held a meeting with youth in Msambweni, Kwale County advocating for them to be included in discussion making and community development programmes.
The meeting also aimed to strengthen the relationship between the youth and elders of Kwale county.
Research indicates that in every 2,000 household there are 2,883 young people living in them across the country.
The research seen by the Hussein Khalid-led rights group also highlighted that there is a high critical issues of inactive - not - just employment - amongest the Coastal youth.
"Youth represent the future of Kenya and overcoming exclusion can have a significant impact on our country's development and can lead to higher result in countering violent extremism," Haki Africa said.
