Speaking to Hivisasa.com on Monday, the affected residents faulted the county government for failing to respond to the crisis despite having been informed by the dispensary’s workers.

They said most of them were turned away for the better part of last week with some medical officers said to have taken leave due to scarcity of drugs.

“We are in a real crisis and someone should help us contain it. Since last week, medics have been turning many residents away due to scarcity of drugs and nothing has been done since them because the situation remains the sake,” said Francis Nyaberi who is suffering from Chronic Malaria.

“It’s sad that some clinical officers can take a leave because of insufficient medicine to handle the number of people suffering from various diseases. We appeal to the county government to rescues the situation because we may be focused to travel to Nyamira which is quite far,” added Cynthia Kerubo.

The dispensary’s chief health officer Mrs. Mary Nyakang’i confirmed the crisis and asked residents to remain patient as the dispensary waited to dispatching of drugs from the county government.

“We reported the situation and the chief health officer Mr. Douglas Bosire is aware of it. It’s good for them to remain a bit patient as the situation will return to normalcy,” she said.
