Residents of Rironi estate in Limuru sub-county have been assured of their security after two businessmen were abducted and murdered by unknown people on Saturday night.
The murder of the two businessmen has caused fear and anxiety among locals and businessmen.
Briefing the press at Rironi shopping centre on Tuesday, Limuru Traffic Police Commandant Mohammed Bakuli assured residents of their security urging them not to panic.
“The government has taken necessary steps to promote security of every citizen in this area,” he said.
The police boss further urged the locals and businessmen to continue with their activities uninterrupted promising 24 hour police patrols.
Bakuli said that security has been intensified warning criminals that their days are numbered.
“We as the police are going to work hard and nail criminal gangs causing havoc in this area,” he said.
Bakuli said a manhunt for the suspects who killed two businessmen has been launched.
“Police detectives have launched a manhunt for the killers and investigations to ascertain their motive,” he said.
Bakuli urged the public to give information that will help police nab the suspects.
A section of residents expressed concerns saying that their safety is no longer guaranteed.
“If our colleagues can be abducted and murdered, then it means we are also not safe,” said Aaron Kamau, a businessman.
Kamau claimed that crime is escalating and urged the police to intensify their surveillance and crackdown on suspected criminals.
