Ritibo Primary School and their neighbours Ritibo Polytechnic were embroiled in a land boundary dispute that dragged for almost a year in a court battle, before Nyamira Principal; magistrate Oliver Atandi advised for out of court settlement in January this year.

On Thursday, Ritibo Primary head teacher Peter Monubi and his Poly counterpart Kepha Omariba said they had agreed that the poly benefits from the disputed boundary.

They said well-wishers had agreed to compensate the primary school with Sh100,000 that will be used to equip the institution with books.

“I am very happy that we have reached and amicable solution over the dispute we had earlier. It is important to note that it was through sacrifice and hard work from various stake holders,” said Monubi.

“Senior Counsel Evans Monari has agreed to give the primary school Sh100,000 that we will use to buy books for our library. We really appreciate him and the poly will own the land for further expansion,” added Omariba.

The two factions will report to Nyamira law courts to table the agreement in compliant with the courts requirement and for formality purposes.

“There is no bad blood between us and everything will be in order and for sure we will report to the court on Monday for formal decision,” added Monubi.
