Ugandan Hashim Sempala was the hero of the day in the match between Kenyan Premier League (KPL) side Tusker FC and Butterfly FC.

Although he did not get on the score sheet in the 4 - 1 win on Saturday 22 July, Sempala rose to the occasion to prevent Butterfly FC defender Amos Wasike  from swallowing his tongue after he collapsed.

Midway through the first half, Sempala saw Wasike collapse without any contact and rushed to his rescue before the medics could be called to help in the situation.

According to Sempala, Wasike collapsed awkwardly and he had to use his first aid knowledge to rescue the situation.

"I saw him collapse because he wasn't far away from me so I quickly thought of scenarios that have happened before with other players. I rushed to the scene and prevented him from swallowing his tongue,” Sempala said as reported by Soka News.

"My team mate Marlon (Tangauzi) also collapsed in our game against Western Stima when no one had realized and I rushed to his aid, luckily his was just some awkward landing. I am always in the field not only to play but to help anyone should they be in a position of danger," Sempala said.

Wasike couldn't continue with the game and had to be substituted but came around there-after.
