A section of Rift Valley youths have accused lawyer Gitobu Imanyara of being influenced by rivals to file "senseless cases" against Deputy President William Ruto.
The Youth Leaders Forum say some individuals are using Imanyara to taint Ruto's image to gain political mileage.
The group's secretary Michael Simbolei questioned why court cases against the DP by his detractors are also synonymous with Imanyara.
"Why is it that this man is always being used to advance negative information about the DP?" he asked.
Last week, a woman sued DP Ruto for child support, saying he has refused to provide.
She was represented in the suit by lawyer Imanyara.
"The respondent has failed to provide the minor with adequate and basic necessities such as good health, food, school fees, clothing, shelter and medication," said the woman in the suit.
DP Ruto in a rejoinder, however, dismissed the claims saying he has always provided for his daughter and the mother.
