Rivatex East Africa Limited Managing Director Thomas Kipkurgat has said that the company is poised to increase its production to serve not only Kenya but also the international market.

He said they have planted cotton on 500 acres of land at Bura irrigation scheme and another 5,000 acres in association with Kerio Valley Development Authority (KVDA).

"As Rivatex company we have planted 40 acres of cotton at Mogotio in Baringo County," he said. 

Speaking at Rivatex Company on Tuesday, Kip Kurgat said they are setting up a ginnery at Salawa which will double  their monthly production of 10,000 meters of Fabric to 20,000. 

He said the company will purchase state of the art machinery with the Sh3 billion loan that was given to them by the Indian government for them to meet the international market demands.

He urged farmers in Kerio Valley and the former Nyanza province to plant cotton since there is ready market.

The company has about 600 workers.
