The residents are saying that water level is dropping drastically due to continued sand harvesting on the river something which is worrying.

"The water level is going down every day because of some people who are scooping sand from the river and it is worrying because we use this water to irrigate and our homes," said Kisoi a farmer.

The residents have now appealed to NEMA to intervene and take the necessary measures so that sand scooping along the river can be banned to prevent exposing residents to possible drought.

"We are appealing to NEMA to come and intervene so that who are harvesting sand can be dealt with," added Syomiti a resident.
