Riyabe sub-county residents in Kisii County have called upon service delivery improvement at Riyabe Level three hospitals.
The Riyabe residents and its environs have registered their discontent with the poor services offered to patients at the Hospital in Kisii County.
According to the residents led by the former area councillor Clea Otindo the residents complained of laxity and negative attitude shown by the hospital staff that has led to loss of life at the facility in situations they feel could have been prevented.
They claimed that the nurses and the clinical officer have been leaving behind trainees to handle emergency cases particularly at night or during weekends adding that they have nowhere to take their patients when emergency arises.
They have therefore called on the county government to overhaul the entire medical staff at the hospital and hire new ones to improve services at the facility which has increasingly acquired poor reputation.
According to the Riyabe Medical officer Dr. Janet Onyango they are delivering services and for those who have not been treated on time was caused by the less staff they have in the hospital.
“We have already a letter to the county government to add more staff and they have agreed to give a resolution in a months’ time,” said Dr. Janet.
