Kisumu County Governor Jack Ranguma has announced that his government has managed to open up most access roads in the county.
Ranguma said when he took over power, there were no access roads in the seven sub counties. He said he has worked hard to put in more resources towards the improvement of roads.
“Our roads are better now compared to when I assumed office and we will not stop there but to ensure the road network is improved and maintained,” he said.
The governor said that with the ongoing rains most of the roads wear off very fast but there are funds to carry out constant maintenance.
Speaking during a public baraza at Obambo Market in South West Kisumu ward in Kisumu West Constituency on Sunday, Ranguma said devolution was introduced to take services closer to the people.
He said most of the development in the sub counties is carried out through a public participation.
Ranguma said his government is people driven and wide consultations among the people will be applied to ensure any development being carried out is the desire of everyone.
Kisumu West Sub County administrator Samson Jagero who accompanied the governor says he will ensure that polices of the county government are fully implemented.
Jagero asked residents of Kisumu West who has issues with the county government to channel them through him.
“We now have channels of reaching Ranguma you need not travel to Kisumu, I have ward administrators, look for them but still you can reach me with any burning issue,” he said.
