The road repair works undertaken by the Nakuru County senator will resume in the third week of January.

Speaking to the press from his office in Nakuru, Joseph Omondi the Personal Assistant to Senator James Mungai in his Nakuru office said that they had taken a break due to the rains and also for the festive season.

Omondi further revealed that they had undertaken the road rehabilitation project after receiving requests from the residents during their meet the people tour in 2014. It was after this that the senator embarked on buying the machinery to undertake the work.

“After the elections, we went round the whole county meeting the electorate and thanking them for their votes. It was then that they raised matters they would like tackled and the issue of poor roads was dominant,” said the PA.

The road rehabilitation works in Naivasha will end at the end of January after which they will head to Molo, Njoro and Kuresoi South Constituencies where they will take two weeks in each sub-county.

“We decided to start with these areas before heading to other constituencies because the residents from these areas had already requested for the services,” said Omondi.

Apart from road rehabilitation, the project will also involve the rehabilitation of playing fields in several schools both in Njoro and Molo constituencies. The schools to benefit include, Ngwataniro primary, Mau Narok primary, Gatimu primary and Mukinyai Secondary schools.
