The Uasin Gishu County government is set to honour  former Athletics Kenya president Isiah Kiplagat by naming a road after the deceased who was buried on Friday.

Governor Jackson Mandago said that his administration will name a road after KIplagat Kapseret home.

"Former AK boss Is Kenya's hero and should be respected and remembered in a unique way for the work he has done for our country," said Mandago during Kiplagat burial in Kapseret.

Mandago eulogized with the family noting that Kiplagat was a friendly person who will be missed by many.

 "He fought with other countries to ensure that major athletic events are held in Kenya, this shows he kept the interest of his country first,"he added. 

President Uhuru Kenyatta's condolence speech that was read by Agriculture CS Willy Bett, acknowledged Kiplagat's commitment to providing transformation and commendable leadership in the Kenyan athletics scene.
