Kiambu Roads CeC Njeri Gatabaki has stopped the controversial expansion of the Thika exits roads.

Speaking on Tuesday from Thika, Gatabaki said that the ongoing conflict of interest clashes will be resolved soon to give room for the road works. She ordered that all works on the roads halt temporarily until outstanding issues are ironed out.

She cautioned anyone attempting to continue with the work at the site saying that county government will not be liable for any loss, injury or damage caused in the clashes.

This comes even as the prison wardens guard the construction area keenly protecting it from any kind of construction by the county government of Kiambu.

An attempted dialogue between the prison chief officers and the county government were thwarted on Tuesday afternoon after the wardens dispersed the county officials once more from their territory.

Led by the County Physical Planning Director, the officials ran for their safety when they wardens fired in the air dispersing them using tear gas and made sure no one used the road for any kind of business.

County head of administration Dominic Gicheru told the press that Governor William Kabogo who is in Holland will be back to start dialogue with the stakeholders.
