President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto's visit in Nyamira County came as a blessing after they unveiled projects worthy over Sh3 billion.
The roads department was the biggest gainer of the visit, after the president and his government set aside over Sh2 billion for construction of tarmac roads.
The president unveiled a plaque for the construction of Mosobeti- Kebirigo road where a total of Sh1.4 billion was set for its completion in eight months' time. Sh1 billion is set to tarmac the Kijauri- Nyansiongo road, and a total of Sh1.5 billion for Obwari-Mabiria-Chabera roads.
The Nyamira Level 5 hospital was upgraded to a teaching and referral hospital, with the government donating machinery and equipment worth Sh810 million.
“We have today upgraded the Nyamira level 5 hospital to a teaching and referral hospital and we have pumped Sh810 million for machines that include the dialysis and renal unit machines to serve the residents at the nearest place”, said the president.
The president also officially opened Ekerubo technical training institute where he said a total of Sh500 million had been used to erect the structures.
He urged the parents to make use of the facility as it will equip people on technical knowledge for those who do not qualify to join universities and middle level colleges.
