Tethering of livestock along the Nyakegogi shopping centre-Itumbe rural road has been condemned by motor-cyclists plying that route, warning the owners of legal action if they will not desist from the habit.
Eric John, is one of the riders plying that route and has called on the local government to take action against residents in the area who tether their goats and cattle along the road.
"Having goats or cows tethered along the road, poses a safety risk to the riders and their clients, since one accidentally encounters the animals as they senselessly come to the road after sensing the bikes approaching,” stated John.
He advised local residents to take safety of their livestock seriously, instead of recklessly tethering their livestock along the road where they can easily be hit by either the motor-cyclists or motorists, leading to accidents that could hold the owners of the livestock culpable.
