President Uhuru Kenyatta and his Deputy William Ruto deserve another term in office, Mandera governor Ali Roba has said.
According to a local daily, Roba said that Uhuru has what it takes to develop the region in the next five years if re-elected.
The county boss noted that Uhuru has an exemplary performance scoreboard, adding that the region will benefit from better infrastructure in the event that Uhuru beats NASA Leader, Raila Amolo Odinga, who is taking a fourth stab at the nation’s top seat in October.
Roba said that he enjoys close ties with the head of state, adding that this makes him better placed to initiate more projects in the region if Jubilee carries the day.
He confirmed that the Rhamo-Elwak road is being constructed for Sh3.6 billion, the Kofole-Moyale for 3.8 billion and the Lafey-Mandera road for Sh3.9 billion.
He also revealed that the government has approved Sh8 billion to tarmac the Rhamo-Mandera road and Sh2.5 billion for a new sewerage system in Mandera town. He further stated the government has done its best in the fight against suspected terror groups in the nation.
“For this reason, I’m appealing to residents to turn out in large numbers and vote for Jubilee on Election Day” he said, as quoted by the local daily.
