Addressing supporters  in Mandera town on Sunday, Roba said that his government will not discriminate against anyone as it seeks to fulfil the development promises it has promised.

Roba said that clans play a key role in development owing to the regions political and cultural politics.

Governor Roba has been differing with clan elders who he sometime back accused of imposing leaders to residents.

The Mandera governor at the same time thanked locals for endorsing  his second term.

He promised to work tirelessly in order to better locals living standards.

"I am ready to work day and night in order to make sure that Mandera residents enjoy the fruits of devolution," he said as quoted by the Standard.

Governor Roba won re-election narrowly beating his closest rival Noor Hassan Noor.

Roba has since reached out to Noor urging him to work with him in pushing for development agenda forward.

Roba won re-election on Jubilee Party ticket while his rival was vying on Economic Freedom Party (EFP).
