Mandera County Governor Ali Roba has warned leaders from the region from fueling tribal wars in Mandera County.

Roba warned that security apparatus are on high alert and would bring down any clan militiamen in the region.

Speaking yesterday in Mandera Town, Roba noted that peace was paramount for development in the region.

“We will never achieve meaningful development if we continue fuelling and fighting along tribal lines for the small resources,” Stated Roba.

He was speaking following the death of 6 people as a result of attack by militiamen in Banisa County on Wednesday.

5 people from the Degodia clan were killed by the militiamen raising tension in the region of retaliatory attacks.

The Governor warned that serious action will be taken against those perpetrating the heronious act including leaders.

He added that his government will ensure equitable distribution of resources in the region and enhance security in the region for economic prosperity.
