Mandera Governor Ali Roba will have an uphill task delivering on his promises after losing majority support in the county leadership.
The County boss now is expected to withstand resistance from different factions including Garre Council of Elders and the Members of the County Assembly(MCAs) as he seeks to complete the projects he started during his first term in office.
The county boss defied the directive of the elders to drop from the race only to pull a surprise by beating his toughest competitor.
The county assembly now has majority leaders from The Economic Freedom Party, which is going to be a nightmare for Roba to see crucial laws passed in the house which comprises of 17 elected and 10 nominated MCAs.
On the other hand, Jubilee only has 10 elected and 7 nominated MCAs. The situation became tougher for Roba when MCAs elected an EFP candidate to take over the speakers seat.
The county boss has, however, called upon different leaders in various capacities to bury the hatched and support his administration as he fights to make the region a better place.
The governor last week presented names of seven nominees for his cabinet, which has been seen as a move to test waters as per an MCA who spoke to a local daily on condition of anonymity.
