Kisii County police commander Hassan Abdi has said that plans are underway to crackdown robbers operating across the county.
He on Thursday morning told a press conference that police officers have been instructed to intensify night patrols to nab robbers who have been notorious in the town.
"We have enough police officer to patrol at night and nab the robbers who are notorious here. Youths who have ventured into illegal dealings should stop failure to which they will face the full force of the law,” he said.
The commander said robbers have been targeting boda boda riders who operate at night.
"Motorbike riders have been a target for long. We advise them to also avoid dangerous areas where robbers are used to hide," he said.
Mr Abdi also asked locals to report any suspicious looking individuals with immediate effect.
Since the year started cases related to crime have been on the increase in Kisii.
