Suspected robbers on Saturday broke into Equity bank, Kayole Branch and made away with an ATM machine containing money and the safe.
According to authorities, the suspects gained access to the premises by drilling a hole into a wall leading to the bank's safe.
Detectives investigating the matter alleged that the suspects managed to disable the bank's CCTV and alarm systems.
According to the Star, none of the security guards manning the bank knew about the incident until Sunday morning.
By press time, none of the bank's staff had recorded a statement with the police although it is suspected that the robbery was conducted in collaboration with staff.
The bank staff has asked for more time to reconcile their books to determine the actual amount of money lost.
