Four men were on Thursday arraigned before a Mombasa Law Court to answer to charges of robbery with violence.
The prosecutor, Erick Masila, told the court that the accused persons; Stephen Owiti, Ali David, Brian Ngoro and Mwalimu Suleiman allegedly robbed Mr Bidalla Mwajamanda on April 11 at Shelly beach in Likoni area within Mombasa County.
The four are accused of robbing Mr Mwajamanda his Samsung Galaxy cell phone worth 15,000 shillings, 2,500 shillings cash and threating to kill him.
Mombasa Principal Magistrate Diana Mochache heard that the four were allegedly armed with pangas and knives during the incident.
The accused persons also faced another charge of allegedly robbing Ms Fatuma Salim of more than 6,000 shillings, a cell phone and her national identity card, on the same day.
The four however denied the charges before the court and filed an application to be released on a reasonable bond.
Magistrate Mochache granted the application by the defence and ordered for the four to be released on a 500,000 shillings bond each.
The case will be heard on June 16.
