Uhuru was expected to travel to the county on Tuesday to officially open the 5th Annual Devolution Conference which kicked off on Monday.

The President, however, failed to fly to Kakamega citing bad weather and instead did a video conferencing from State House in Nairobi.

In a Twitter post on Tuesday, Alai noted that Uhuru had many options of dealing with the bad climate, and criticised him for opting not to attend the conference.

He further termed Kenyatta's action as a 'serious snub' on the devolution conference.

"President Uhuru refusing to fly to Kakamega "because of bad weather" is a serious snub on the #DevolutionConfrence2018," tweeted Alai.

"The President has an all-weather jet and armoured cruisers which he could have used to fly to Kisumu and then be driven to Kakamega. You are President brother. Nooo," the controversial blogger added.

Over 6,000 delegates are attending the conference which is expected to end on Friday.
